Welcome to Chandos Recreation Ground, a Green Flag Award winning public park providing over 9 hectares of accessible green space for the local community and visitors alike.

The park offers a carefully balanced environment for recreation, relaxation and wellbeing, with extensive perimeter walking routes, mature trees providing natural shade and numerous benches positioned throughout the park, creating ideal spaces to rest and enjoy the surroundings.

Visitors can explore the wetlands and riverside views along Edgware Brook, supporting a rich variety of wildlife and enhancing the park’s natural landscape.

Families can enjoy the fully enclosed children’s playground alongside an exciting activity trail featuring rolling grass mounds designed to encourage active outdoor play and exploration.

Chandos Recreation Ground also provides a range of sports facilities, open grassed areas and informal spaces suitable for exercise, recreation and community activities.

Maintained by Harrow Council and supported by the Chandos Park Community Group, the park continues to be a welcoming, safe and attractive destination where nature, leisure and community come together throughout the year.

Chandos Recreation Ground has a wide variety of facilities for adults and family groups of all ages:

  • Activity trail with featured mounds

  • Multi Use Games Area

  • 2 Tennis Courts (fenced)

  • Table tennis tables

  • Green gym

  • Path following park perimeter with distance markers and numerous benches

  • Exercise station along path

  • Cricket pitch with home cricket team

  • Wildlife corner with hexagonal bug hotel

  • Wetlands area and views of Edgware brook

  • Picnic tables

  • Children’s nursery

Become a member of the Friends

There is no formal membership structure for CPCG.

CPCG has an elected committee through an AGM.

We communicate with the park users through the park noticeboard, our Facebook page and our website.

What friends' groups do

The Chandos Park Community Group works with Harrow Council to make the park clean, safe, friendly and fun. To achieve these aims the group conducts:

  • Minor park maintenance

  • Litter picking

  • Organising events to involve the local community including:

Bird walks

Saturday walk and talk

River monitoring

Annually we run an Easter Eggstravaganza

We need volunteers for a variety of tasks including litter picking, organising and running events, along with general park maintenance.
